EVENTS SCHEDULE
- FEBRUARY MEETING CANCELLED DUE TO PARKING
RESTRICTIONS AND OLYMPIC EVENTS IN THE AREA
- NOTICE from
David Varnes, ST LL764 Dec 21, 2009:- Jan 6, 2010 still
looking for volunteers
Good day all…
The Main Hall has been stripped of tables and chairs in preparation for carpet
cleaning over Christmas. The Retiree Room and the vacated CUPE
H & S Office are also slated for cleaning, as are the twelve (12) blue chairs
provided by Brother Carter.
The first scheduled use of the Main Hall in the New Year will be the Retirees
on Wednesday, January 06, 2010, followed by the Local Lodge on Tuesday
and Wednesday January 12 and 13, and then CUPE 4094 for their Quarterly
Meeting Thursday January 14 (1200 – 1600 hours), followed by Local Lodge
16 on Tuesday January 19 (1000 – 1800 hours).
For Brother Watson for referral, there are a number of brown cloth and black
vinyl covered chairs used in the Main Hall in need for refurbishment.
Specifically,
most of the brown cloth armchairs need new seat covers, and the black vinyl
chairs need new plastic foot casters, are missing screws, and several chairs
need new vinyl
seat covering or backs.
Is there a retired member from Category 13 who would be interested in
providing a paid service to the Local Lodge in refurbishing these chairs?
The interested member(s) would need to complete their work in the last week of
the month (when there are no rentals) and would be paid an hourly rate
($20 per hour) and reimbursed for all materials with receipts. I estimate that
about 20 – 30 chairs need repair or some attention.
Let me know if there is an interested member and have them contact me.
Seasons Greetings to all.
David Varnes, ST LL764
