District Bulletin 48 – AIR CANADA TMOS RETIRE “REHIRE”

Air Canada approached the Committee of General Chairpersons and sought the Union’s agreement to rehire recent retirees for term (temporary) employment for a period not to exceed 6 months.
After a cautious evaluation, your Union identified a myriad of concerns with the Company’s proposal that were simply not acceptable. Read Bulletin here…

MTU – 764 TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION – SEPTEMBER 30TH

This upcoming September 30th marks a historic turning point in Canadian history. For the first
time, a national statutory holiday will commemorate the history and brutal legacy of residential
schools. While many of our statutory holidays are religious in nature, few mark historic moments
in history, like Labour Day and now the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Read Bulletin here…

MTU 764 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UPDATE

Your Committee met internally on August 17, 2021 to prepare for the next direct bargaining session, however, the confirmed direct bargaining dates for August 25 & 27, 2021 were cancelled due to operational constraints, which resulted in the Company’s inability to release the members of the Union’s bargaining committee. Direct bargaining dates have been confirmed for October 25, 27 – 29, 2021, and November 1 & 2, 2021 have been scheduled tentatively. Read Bulletin here…
